Linda VanderMarlie
Founder
Meet Linda, the visionary behind WC&E. Inspired by the warm spirit of Narok County, Kenya, she's dedicated over a decade to amplifying educational opportunities for children in remote areas. Through her passion for equitable access to education, Linda empowers communities and fosters brighter futures. WC&E continues to uplift and transform lives in some of Kenya's most underserved regions thanks to Linda's unwavering commitment and tireless efforts.
Chief Financial Officer
Tom is a Stanford MBA graduate with a background in overseeing startups, bringing years of financial expertise to his role as Chief Financial Officer at WC&E. With a deep love for Kenya, Tom is committed to the organization's mission of access to education and wildlife conservation. He combines his financial acumen with his passion for conservation to drive impactful initiatives, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to support sustainability, environmental stewardship, and educational programs.
Erik Edney
Chief Operating Officer
Being an avid adventurer, all it took was one visit to WC&E for Erik to fall in love with Kenya; the land, people, and animals. Erik is passionate about advancing WC&E into a fully ecologically sustainable organization. By trade, Erik is a pilot and air traffic controller. He has a long term goal of utilizing aviation responsibly, to further the accessibility of resources to WC&E.
Samantha Edney
US Director
With a track record of over 15 years in leading teams and organizations both locally and globally, Samantha brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her notable accomplishments include successfully establishing and developing a new department of designers and leaders for a renowned custom apparel company, contributing to its exceptional growth and success. Beyond her professional achievements, she is actively engaged in her community, dedicating her time to mentor underprivileged youth and support community arts projects. After falling in love with Kenya during her initial visit several years ago, Samantha is excited to bring her experience in team-building and community development to WC&E, furthering our mission and making a positive impact.
Anna Porter
Sponsorship Coordinator
Our inaugural volunteer, Anna, initiated and spearheaded the establishment of our Sponsor With Me program, facilitating the education of over 100 primary-age children who had previously lacked access to schooling.
